Norwegian energy major, Equinor, now officially owns Danish solar developer, BeGreen, as acquisition has now been closed.

The two energy companies disclosed the deal at the beginning of November 2022, as part of a joint commitment to further energy transition within the European energy market.
BeGreen will continue its’ work to develop solar parks in Denmark, Sweden, and Poland as well as look into new prospective markets – primarily in Northern Europe.

Managing partner at BeGreen, Anders Dolmer, is excited for the opportunities the Equinor ownership will present for the development of BeGreens’ portfolio.
“Having a parent company such as Equinor with strong financial prowess and an extensive knowledge of a broad variety of energy markets will allow BeGreen to develop our projects at an accelerated pace. We are very excited to join the Equinor ranks and to expand our role as a leading solar developer in Europe, operating as a key player in furthering the European energy transition as well as energy security”, says Anders Dolmer.

Olav Kolbeinstveit, senior vice president for power and markets within Renewables at Equinor says:
«We are happy to welcome BeGreen to the Equinor family as a fully owned subsidiary. BeGreen represents an important building block to our industrial renewables position in North Europe, in line with our ambition to be a leading company in the energy transition. We look forward to developing solar PV projects together with the BeGreen team, contributing to a secure supply of renewable and affordable energy for the host communities”.

BeGreen will continue developing their business with current management and team.
