Sustainability
BeGreen’s mission is to produce and deliver affordable renewable energy, while caring for our planet, its people and their prosperity, and making a positive societal contribution.
Our 360° Sustainability Model
Our most important sustainability topics are outlined in our 360° Sustainability Concept. We proactively address these topics in our operations and align them with our business priorities.
BeGreen’s most significant impacts on the economy, environment, and people as well as on our own business value are identified through a dynamic materiality assessment.
How do we work with sustainability?
We work systematically with sustainability in four strategic pillars. We set targets and implement actions to achieve them. Our objective is to address key risks as well as work with areas where we can enact positive change.
Climate Action
Reducing our climate footprint with actions based on science.
Nature & Resources
Green energy that enhances and protects nature.
People-Centered
A green transition that respects the health, safety and rights of all.
Governance with Integrity
Our corporate governance ensures we are a responsible company.
Why solar parks?
Solar PV parks generate substantial amounts of renewable energy in a cost-effective and efficient manner. When thoughtfully designed and strategically planned, these parks can also deliver co-benefits beyond renewable energy production.
Support the transition to a low-carbon economy
Large-scale solar is regarded as crucial for the transition to a low-carbon economy, helping mitigate climate change by reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
Renewable Energy Source
Solar energy is derived from the sun, which is an abundant and inexhaustible resource, which means solar power can be harnessed as long as the sun exists.
Electrifying the entire energy system
The demand for electricity in the EU is expected to rise in the coming years due to the Green Deal, which aims for net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. This transition will drive increased electrification in key sectors and will require substantial expansions in renewable energy generation.
Rapidly deployed
Utility scale solar PV is a solution for expanding electricity supply that typically requires just 12-18 months from the start of construction to commissioning. This rapid deployment makes them an ideal choice for meeting rising energy demands.
Low carbon footprint
Solar PV parks have one of the lowest life-cycle carbon footprints for electricity supply.
Our commitments
The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals provide objectives for the positive impacts we aim to achieve. We are committed to conducting our business consistently with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights and the ten Principles of the Global Compact. We support the Paris Climate Agreement and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
