The solar park at Ingerslev Å has a capacity of 65 MWp and has been operational since June 2025. With the new battery facility, which has a storage capacity of 40 MWh, surplus solar energy can now be stored and released when production is lower but demand is still present. 

This reduces waste of renewable energy during hours of high production and lowers the risk that the park must curtail production during low or negative electricity prices. At the same time, the battery can quickly adjust up or down and thereby deliver system services to the overall electricity grid – a flexibility that is becoming increasingly important for grid stability as more solar and wind come onto the grid. Together, this provides more flexibility in the energy system, strengthened security of supply, and a better ability to integrate even more renewable energy into the grid. 

Danske Commodities, which is also a subsidiary of the Equinor group, is already the balancing responsible party for the solar park, and now also for optimising the battery as a provider of balancing services.
