Human Rights

BeGreen is committed to ensuring that the green transition is also a just transition. Respect for human rights is fundamental to how we develop renewable energy projects — across our workforce, our supply chains, and the communities where we operate.

We believe renewable energy must be delivered responsibly, with dignity, fairness, and respect for people at every stage of the value chain.

Human Rights Matter to us

The development of renewable energy infrastructure depends on people — employees, contractors, suppliers, and local communities. Projects can create positive value, but they can also involve risks related to working conditions, labour rights, recruitment practices, and land use impacts.

That is why BeGreen works proactively to identify, prevent, and mitigate adverse human rights impacts linked to our activities and business relationships.

Our Approach

Our human rights work is guided by internationally recognised standards and embedded into our sustainability strategy and governance systems.

Our Board-approved Human Rights Policy sets out our commitment to:

  • Respect internationally recognised human rights, including the International Bill of Human Rights
  • Align with the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work
  • Conduct risk-based human rights due diligence in line with the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights
  • Provide access to grievance mechanisms and remedy where needed

This ensures that our projects are not only green, but also responsible and ethically grounded. Have a look at the policy below.

Responsible Sourcing

BeGreen’s responsible sourcing approach ensures that our suppliers and contractors meet clear expectations on ethics, safety, sustainability, and human rights. We apply risk-based due diligence, use audits and traceability measures where relevant, and work closely with partners to improve transparency and performance across our value chain.

Due Diligence Across our Value Chain

We integrate human rights due diligence systematically into the way we work. This includes:

  • Supplier and contractor expectations through our Code of Conduct
  • Business integrity and sustainability assessments prior to contract award
  • On-site monitoring, audits, and follow-up during construction
  • Engagement with workers and relevant stakeholders

We also pay particular attention to individuals and groups that may be at greater risk due to vulnerability or marginalisation, including migrant workers.

In addition social audits and traceability audits are conducted in relevant parts of our supply chain to strengthen transparency and identify potential risks linked to labour conditions, human rights, and responsible sourcing. These audits support continuous improvement and follow-up with suppliers and contractors where needed

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

Respecting human rights is an ongoing effort that requires partnership and learning. We work collaboratively with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to strengthen responsible practices across our value chain. We support capacity building, encourage transparency, and continuously improve our human rights due diligence over time, recognising that complex and systemic challenges are best addressed through shared action.

Grievance Mechanisms and Accountability

BeGreen is committed to ensuring that workers, communities, and other rightsholders have access to channels for raising concerns.

We seek to provide or cooperate in effective grievance mechanisms and do not tolerate retaliation against those who raise issues in good faith. Where we have caused or contributed to adverse impacts, we aim to support appropriate remediation.

Governance and transparency

Strong governance is the backbone of a responsible and just transition. Oversight of human rights commitments is embedded across BeGreen’s organisation, supported by management systems and Board-level accountability.

Looking ahead

By combining renewable energy development with proactive human rights due diligence, we aim to help ensure that the green transition supports both climate goals and human dignity.
