Climate Action
Climate change poses significant risks to ecosystems, communities, and economies, impacting both current and future generations. Renewable energy plays a critical role in decarbonising energy systems, but climate action must go beyond production alone. At BeGreen, we recognise that the greatest share of emissions from renewable energy infrastructure occurs upstream — in the manufacturing, transport, and construction of components. That is why we aspire to reduce greenhouse gas emissions across our supply chains while continuing to scale renewable energy production.
Our Approach
Our climate strategy is rooted in science and integrated into our sustainability framework. We focus on both:
- Delivering renewable energy that supports energy system decarbonisation, and
- Reducing the emissions we incur through materials, construction, and procurement.
Our ambition is to ensure that climate considerations are embedded throughout the lifecycle of every asset — from design and sourcing to operation and end of life.
ISO-Verified Life Cycle Assessments (LCA)
A key part of effective climate action is understanding where emissions occur and how they can be reduced.
BeGreen applies Life Cycle Assessments (LCA) to quantify greenhouse gas emissions intensity across the full lifecycle of our energy parks. These assessments are conducted in accordance with ISO standards and help identify emission hotspots and targeted decarbonisation opportunities.
Case study: Ingerlsev Å Solar Park
At our Ingerslev Å solar park we applied ISO-verified Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to understand the full climate footprint. The LCA shows that more than 95% of emissions occur during manufacturing and construction — providing valuable insights to reduce impacts in future projects.
The resulting emissions intensity was calculated at 26 g CO₂e/kWh, significantly lower than fossil fuel-based electricity generation. More than 95% of lifecycle emissions occur during manufacturing and construction, while operational emissions are minimal.
This science-based insight supports improved procurement decisions and lower-carbon project design in future developments.

Climate targets and resilience
Our climate ambition is to decarbonise delivered electricity and continuously reduce carbon intensity over time.
Besides reducing emissions, we also prepare for climate impacts such as storms and flooding. We incorporate climate risk into the design, construction, and operation of our assets so they remain robust and continue to operate effectively and efficiently over time.
Governance and transparency
Strong governance underpins credible climate action. Climate performance is monitored through our ESG oversight and is integrated into our broader sustainability approach alongside nature, circularity, and people.
We are committed to transparent and comprehensive sustainability reporting, including compliance with evolving Danish and EU requirements.
Looking Ahead
Our ambition is rooted in our vision: Generations powered by reliable, affordable, and green energy.
By combining renewable energy production with science-based climate strategies, lifecycle emissions management, and climate resilience planning, BeGreen aims to deliver lasting climate benefits for communities and future generations.
